My son just received his AKG K7XX's. They are the product of a joint venture between AKG and Massdrop. Basically, they're re-branded AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition's (which were supposedly an improvement on the original 702"s).

So far, we both like them. :thmbsp: Does anyone have experience with either of these?

No, but I'm interested. My only wish is that they didn't have the memory foam pads, they hurt the area just below my ear after an album or so.

Got mine last week, but still haven't opened the package. Seemed like a good deal and there were over 2000 participants, as I recall. It's waiting to take its turn in rotation.

You got the annies. I had them for a while. The difference is a more premium earpad and headband.

I was notified that mine have arrived! Will have to wait until Christmas to try them out. I was so close to buying a pair of K701's on Amazon, but saw these for a bit cheaper. Should these sound as good or better than the 701's?

They should sound the same but be more comfortable.

So far I'm really enjoying this headphones. I've only listened to them for maybe 3 hours, but they sound great. I don't have much experience with open back cans. I have a pair of AT AD700, but these AKG sound a lot better!

I had a some left over cable and a left over switchcraft plug from my cable mod on my Audio Technica's, so I ordered a swithcraft mini xlr plug and made a new cable! The supplied cable was kinda cheap feeling.

I have the 65th Anny model 702. I love them and they will get better with play.
