Joni Mitchell has done a number of her own album covers artwork, and she has quite a following in the art world, as well as her contributions to the music industry. "Turbulent Indigo" comes immediately to mind.

Another Warhol cover that I've found a few copies of over the years.

Here's my favorite Frank Frazetta cover.

And I can't forget Jack Davis of Mad Maqazine fame.

Brett Whiteley's Alchemy. I've seen this, it huge and full of interesting little details up close. In an interesting return of artistic favour, Brett Whiteley's studio space which has been left the way it was upon his death, has a few Dire Straits CDs in the studio music library.

There's gotta be more than that! The best I could come up with off the top of my head is a spoof, but it's a good one.
