All Hail The (Fisher) President

Hello,

Pricing should not matter. If you want it .. its rare enough as is to pay what you can afford.

I am not sticking up for that guys price. Just saying that too much is put on value of components.

Frannie

I spoke to the guy in California a few months ago before he posted the CL ad. He doesn't mention in the ad that one of the legs is broken.

Hiya,

Trying to figure out who the person was who offered over 2900 for it.

I know its not you Jon or Carter ..

Frannie

2900 might not be so far fetched if it were local to the buyer, profided the buyer is motivated. For me it is too far but in the grand schem of things once I sell off enough inventory it could be possible say if in Detroit area or Chicago areas. Pushing a van 2200 miles certainly can not be cheap, add in hotel bills and food and it can be a spendy proposition. I am afraid that will not get better anytime soon

Hiya,

Yep when you put it that way. I guess if it was local and pristine I would be tormented at least with calculations in my blonde head.

Oh wait .. that is business as usual. A happy meal and a extra box of chicken nuggets torments me with calculating.

Frannie

Congrats on saving a rarity!

1100 mi. radius is a lot of area...approx. including Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, Atlanta and Charlotte NC. :scratch2:

although happy meals and chicken nuggets would help keep cost down while on the road

When I first spoke to the guy, he said he had an offer of $2600.

What ever that means!

Wasn't there one with a broken leg on the bay a while back ? . :scratch2:
Back in Jan. '11, I think, there was a 1965 President X 9010-P (French Provincial) in West Virginia with a broken rear leg. It was a tube hybrid with the MF-300 tuner, 400-CX-2 pre and the TA-900 amp. I don't know if it sold or not. I think he listed it twice but I didn't follow the second listing to its conclusion. There was a thread on it in D&S but I can't find it now.

There ARE still Presidents out there. At the same time that I was first corresponding with the woman who eventually sold Jon his President, Jon was corresponding with the guy in California about that one. Then I heard about someone with all the components from a President minus the cabinet through the Yahoo Fishergroup. Then I got an email with photos from Qman of his XIII (I thought he had gutted it). All that within a single week!

Jon; That is Gorgeous! Carter swore me to secrecy on this one. That is the SCORE of the Decade for the FISHER Forum!

Any chance of gettingthe Miracord 10 manual posted to the President files???
The two 10's in my 65 Custom electra and Futura are off white and have "THE FISHER" printed on the Tonearm weight. Maybe they changed the color's during thetwo year period?

Now all you have to do is find the correct AMPEX Tape Deck.

Great Snag, and a well deserved rest to all.

Larry
