All Pioneer multis use the same cartridge?

Hey all.
I have a low end Pioneer PD-M502 6 disc changer. It came without a cartridge. I just left Goodwill where I found 10 cartridges with the protective film still on the edge and 9 of them in plastic slip cases. Each is identical and the front edge shows 6 rings on the lower left front (to symbolize 6 discs?) and the words "6-Disc Multi-Play" and then PIONEER. Top face has loading instructions and model seems to be PRW 1141 (small print on lower right of label).

I loaded one up and put it in the machine and the machine cycled through the trays (seemed to grab them fine) but did not recognize the disc. I moved the disc into several of the trays and no luck.

Before I open this thing and suspect a bad laser lens, carrier or other problem, can someone confirm that I have the correct cartridge.

I looked on ebay and the logos on the faces seem nearly identical to some of the models on ebay. The PD-M435 looks identical except on that one, the 6 is larger on 6-Disc Multiplay

Looks identical to the PD-M550
Different from the PD-M6 but only again, as to the font of the 6
Different from the PD-M410 but only again, as to the font of the 6

Like this auction, but no multicolored rim and the red ones have the logo/font like mine exactly.

He lists them as PWR1141 which matches my model...

They seem IDENTICAL to this auction

Looks like there is some variation as one auction lists a PWR1139

Thanks!

I've got 2 PD-403's . Have used the PIONEER boxes, and even KENWOOD boxes in them with no problem. The printing differences are immaterial, even on the PIONEER's from year to year. If the external dimensions are the same, and the trays have the same notches and shape, they should work.

the only REAL diference I see is the color of the individual slides the cd's sit on. Depends on whether you want dark or light grey.

This is an old thread but hopefully you discovered label side goes down. I did on one I picked up last summer, it works great! Love it so much I just bought another one at auction for another stereo in the house. So much better than the large carousel cd players.
