A gift from a old man that said i can have them he brought them over last thursday. what i have here is two cabinates with a Kn-800 in each cab. they are 12" Allied Knight 3 way speakers. does anyone know anything about them. the cabinates look nice are on legs, with a small retangle port below the 12". i took off the backs of the speaker cabinates and i see this lite blue KN-800 it says three way speaker 16 ohm 25 watt..there is no damage to either speaker and i see through the covers it looks like a silver round horn in the middle of the 12" spk. i hooked them up and yes they play and sound nice. very nice...can anyone give me thier opinion as to if they are worth anything. i use a set of 15" three way spks and i dont really have much use for them....thanks for any info on them...

I'm not a fan of reading your run-on sentences, but I understand you were probably a bit too excited when posting this thread. It read like a hyper child on Christmas morning, which is how I'd feel, had someone given me a pair of vintage knights! As your post already notes, they sound very good - as they should. Ive found vintage Knight speakers to be very pleasing! You got lucky! Congrats!!!

They must suck terribly! Frankly, the longer they are in your house the greater the chance of you damaging your hearing. The best thing you can do is to ship them over to me for proper disposal, where the only ears at risk are mine. But hey.... That's how I roll. I am willing to sacrifice for a fellow AKer.

Don't know how they sound, but here are the specs from a '58 Allied catalog. I do know I blew a lot of tube-era speakers when I switched to solid-state amps...

Looks like a Jensen product in that ad.Do you see any numbers on the edge of the speaker frames starting with 220***** ??

Knight speakers are mostly re-branded from other manufacturers.
I've seen Jensen,Electro-Voice and even Goodmans with Knight labels.

:smoke:

How about some pics ??
