allison cd7 match

purchased a pair of allison cd7. I am now looking for a center to match them. Very few allisons' on the resale market, would love a pair of cd6s' but hard to find. the question would be; since acoustic research speakers of the early 70s' were the mindset of Roy Allison before moving onto his own company my thinking would be that some of the AR speakers of that time may be as good a match. I am specifically looking for a pair of bookshelfs.

As an owner of CD7 speakers I'd be interested in taking a stab, however, need some clarification. I'm assuming the CD7's will be your mains? I'm also assuming you're using a sub (otherwise what's the point of a center)? One thing I'm finding, for HT use which I'm assuming that is what this is all about, is "timbre" as they call it, plays a huge factor.

I think a single allison 4 would make a nice center as well as rear surrounds

The cd 7's are the mains, and yes I use a sub and I agree the timbre is the priority.
All that being said I solved my problem. Did a bit more work and search different areas on craigslist and found a nice pair of cd 6's that I feel should do it well. Basically they should be a perfect match, using the same components. I will parallel them and hook them into one channel of a rotel amp pushing 300 watts at 4 ohms.
