Alpha-Numerics (Transfers, whatever).

Anyone out there know a source for decent alpha-numerics for faceplates. I have a scratched face-plate I'm going to polish and have re-anodized and that will require new lettering. Transfers would be the simplest, if anyone knows a reliable, high-quality source. Thanks.

I do it couple of ways.

1- I have several rubber stamps custom made for items that often wear out. It takes a little practice but using the right ink and stamp produces great results.

2- Decal transfers will work if you then clear-coat the graphics so they do not wear off. You can make the custom decals using your printer. I use photographs of "good" front panels as the basis for the decal. It takes special paper, etc. http://www.mcgpaper.com/decals.html

I you have a really steady hand, it is possible to touch up the lettering. I try to avoid that.

Parts express carries a transfer kit.

I saw a pioneer TT on ebay that had a new label made by one of those dynamo label makers. Terrible LOL.
