Hello All,
After going through the attic at my parents house I came across an old Altec amp, 1609B, that I picked up somewhere a while back. It's older, but a matte black not green. I used to use it to power an unpowered sub in high school (I may have gotten it from the high school auditorium with the sub and some random mixers when they were going to toss it all). It did the job well enough, but now I'm wondering if it's something I should take more seriously, and if it has any place in home audio, or if I should part with it. I can't really find much out there on this model, though there is a bit on the 1609a. I'll snap some pictures and post tomorrow.
