Altec 601C cabinets

I recently acquired these nicely constructed cabinets (I overlayed dimensions) that currently have 12" Allied triaxial drivers in them. Is it worth any effort to try and repurpose these cabinets with Altec 601C? I probably won't be able to get the bass tuned too low, but I'd be fine supplementing with a subwoofer.

But, if you're going to run a subwoofer/s the volume becomes a more or less non-issue.

Thanks for that drawing! Question: what is that diagonal piece that appears to be running to opposite corners? Is it there for bracing?

Yes, one on each side panel, and one on the back panel.
