Altec 602B - original horn?

Hello!! i´m new here and full of doubts hahaha
I was given some fine vintage set, wich belonged to my grandpa, who bought it in a trip to the US in his early army days. I´m from Brasil, this sort of gear was insanely expensive to buy here at the time. It consists in a Garrard 301 (oil bearing) using a GE VR22 cartridge in a GE tm-2g tonearm (only mistake in this set) and a Altec 602B. There was a Fisher amp, but it got lost overtime. I have many questions regarding the set, but those need to go on a different place i guess.

The issue i have is that the horns seem to be different from the original ones, at least for what i could find over radioshack´s catalogs (seems to be released in 1960) and Altec published material.I know my grandpa never needed to fix it, so it makes no sense for me. Most likely it´s a version i couldnt find nowhere. Hope you guys can help me out with that.

Gabriel

Ola e bem-vindo!

So that was a mono set-up. Does the Altec work correctly including the tweeter?

Was it mono? I read the VR22 was a stereo cartridge..

Havent tested it. Dont have the right equipment and cant find the right person to do it! But my mother said my grandpa almost never used it, only on family reunions at a very low volume. He took really good care of his stuff. So i guess they are working perfectly
