Altec 846A question

Good morning all; The other day, a friend dropped off a pair of 846As. The drivers/ horns look to be in excellent shape; before I test them ( I'll be using a Fisher 500B), I was wondering if I should use 8 or 16 ohm settings.
The reason I ask is that on the back of the speakers, it says "for use as 8 or 16 ohm operation". Up till this point, I've had only 8 ohm systems. Thanks

I have asked that question regarding my 846A Valencia's here on AK and the answer from knowledgeable tube experts was whichever sounds better.
To be honest, I don't notice much difference, so I left them on my amp's 16 ohm tap.

Both drivers are 16 ohm.
