Altec Lansing 305 A speakers?

I have been offered a pair of these speakers (just what I need, since I'm overwhelmed by speakers these days - The WAF hasn't been pleasant lately) ! I have seen "305 S" speakers in their Legacy series, which seem quite reasonable, but can't find anything about vintage "305 A"s. Does anyone have these? Has anyone heard them? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe a decent sounding speaker, but aside from the name they really have nothing in common with "vintage" Altec with regard to sound, engineering, or the characteristics which made the name famous.

Just my .02 y'all understand.........................

I realize the 305 S isn't vintage Altec, but apparently it was inspired by some earlier Altec creation. I assume that would be the 305 A. However, given that absolutely nothing can be found on the web or on these pages, maybe that assumption is erroneous. Audiokarma has a single entry, a request similar to mine made in January. That request got zero responses.

This isn’t actually true and yes I realise this post was 2007 and perhaps the information wasn’t available back then but many speakers in this line were actually originally designed by the original Altec Corporation in Oklahoma. There was a series just before Altec Lansing Corp folded called the Maestro series. You will find Altec Lansing Model 55, Model 95 and Model 205 made in Milford PA are all identical down to the finest details to The Maestro Series M55, M200T and M300T designed and made by the original Altec Lansing Corp.
