Altec Lansing 3841 are they the same as 886a ?

Me likes the eargasm retroplasm...
I just picked up a pair of 3841.

There isn’t much info on these out there... I’ve read a few am threads where the woods are suspected to be CTS...
Are these a less expensive version of the 886a?

I picked up a pair of them for $10 cause they said Altec. Foams were rotted, drivers looked cheap, and I couldn't find any good reviews about them. Cabinets were pretty nice. I took a sledge to baffle and made two nice boxes to hold records.

We’re they Altec drivers in them or CTS?

I’ll have to get into mine. The former owner had them refoamed 7-8 years ago... I haven’t had the chance to listen to them yet, but I have high hopes :rolleyes:.
