The orange they had was pretty brutal but I am assuming the faux wrought iron French Scroll look, I am not around them now but the grilles are removable and the scrolls actually break up the field a bit .. maybe they grew on me but they were the worst thing ever with the orange behind them

I love the look of the Heathkit AS101 grill cloth much better than the Spanish inspired grills on the Altecs. Every time I look at mine I just smile.

How to remove the grills on the Valencia speakers?

On the true Valencia model, the grill is a curved plastic grill, very brittle by now. It's removed by pulling one side out of its groove, that frees it up to pull the other side oit. The grill is glued to cloth behind it. The pair I had lost several pieces over the years until I finally gave up on it and replaced with spray painted radiator screen cut to size.

That's a great solution, they look beautiful. Nice touch with the badge on there.
