Altec Lansing Model 14's ($150 good deal?)

A guy called me telling me he has a set of Altec Lansing Model 14's. i went out and saw them. they are in mint condition. he is asking $150.00 are they worth it? can someone tell me some info on these speakers? thanks. all oppions are apreciated!!!!!!!!!

I don't think a lot of folks realize that once they post about "Altec model 14" on AK, that AK thread will be in the top few google hits if not the top one when you search "altec model 14".

If the seller were to do a quick google before he commits to a buyer, guess what he's likely going to read including but not limited to the fella unwilling to let his go for less than 700(i wouldn't either).

The flipside is, there may not be a lot of buying competition in Saskatchewan.
 
If you didn't buy them in the first place, you might have lost them already... At this price they're almost free...
 
I found a pair of 14's and Santana II's on CL and emailed...brought em home yesterday and hooked em up and am pleased as punch with them. I swapped a set of Klipsch RVX-54 surround sound towers for them...and had to really think about whether I was happy with the swap at first.

After listening to them distribute the glass breaking tinkling sounds and high end notes of classical spanish guitar music, I was fine with the swap. :)
