Altec Lansing Model Seven Series II

Hi,

Do you know about Altec Lansing Model Seven Series II? I came across one pair in a second-hand Hi-Fi shop. After audition, I'm thinking to sell my Spendor SP2 for them. Before purchase, I'd like to collect some information and advice.

When was the model manufactured approximately? What should I check? I found that the centres of the mid-range drivers are worn off a little. Is this a problem? Please share your knowledge, thoughts and feelings on the model. Thanks for your kind help!

I looked over at Lansing Heritage.
But that exact model is not shown. The closest is the model 7 series 2, in the 1978 catalog. So it must be newer than that. It is a 12 inch three way system. Like a competitor to the JBL L-100.
 
Thanks, Don. I can find the exact model in the 1978 Home catalog. According to the specs, I found that its woofers are 12". Sadly, the one pair I auditioned are not with woofers in such size. In the other words, they're not REAL Seven Series II. Thanks again for saving me from buying a pair of fake speakers! :)
