Altec lot on CL

Wow, nice! 515-8Gs! But no, a 511B horn does not bring $450 on Ebay. Fair deal for all that stuff, or even if you wanted to get a couple sets.

Good deal; wish I was local. Darn, I'd be in for a set or two if someone bought the lot and wanted to split them.

Once again, eBay is the arbiter of all vintage pricing [sigh]. :yuck:

Not to rant, but I'm SO tired of that comparison. It's just jacked up all the prices because one sold on ebay for XXX dollars, so it must be worth that. Maybe these Altecs are worth it, but just quote a price, please!

He did, $3400

And as far as eBay, get used to it because it IS the best benchmark out there for pricing. You can see what items really sold for in the last 30 days; not what someone thinks they may be worth.
Heck, it could be even worse as most eBay sales are even costlier due to the shipping charges a buyer pays...

BTW, $450 for 511s IS baloney....

I'm sure GPA would take issue with their products being characterized as "reproductions."

"Fair" is accurate if you can trust condition and longevity, his quotes for new prices are smoking crack.

Assume everything in that lot is well used, 850 for just the components(USED) for a pair of HP A7X is not a smoking deal of any kind really.

Brand new 902's from GPA are 202 bucks each, brand new alnico 802-8G's are 250 bucks each!
