I guess "new refines" means "newly refinished." They look nice, and the crossovers look great, but $2000 isn't what I would call a score. These seem to be the speaker of the month around here.
Tell me about it! I have been thinking a while about getting some Altecs possibly the Model 17's and asked the question in a thread about which one of four models would be the best and the answer was pretty clear everyone said the Model 19's. Since then everyone is jumping around showing their new Model 19's.
I don't think I would mind paying his price as long as they are really in good condition. Maybe I am wrong but does it look like the front near the bottom of the one on the left has a few marks like someone ran the vaccum into it? It does look and from his post sound like he has done all the mods everyone talks about, and finding a pair within driving distance is a plus. Right now I am at my Florida house, but a weekend trip to my house in Ga is no problem, as I probably need to rake up the leaves in the yard as fall is here. I really am trying to convince myself not to persue these at this date.

Well it won't be to long and I will have a pair, I try to stick to my goals. Knowing my luck I will run into a pair somewhere for 200 bucks.

I'm guessing that this pair was a find, that needed a lot of work. Refinished, new crossovers etc... then sell them?
You can always offer less.
