I can see a kilobuck for 846As; not so sure 'bout a pair of 846Bs.
EDIT - If they really do have 511B horns in 'em, I don't think they're 846Bs. Something's awry (I think).

Definitely 811's, Pretty sure those are Mark's, a AK and SMAC member, even posted about picking those up a while back.

511Bs aren't what I'd call gigantic, although they are noticeably bigger than 811Bs.

Now, 1505s... they're getting on towards "fairly large", I'd say. Still not gigantic, though.

(EDIT: oh, and they sound really nice with 288 compression horns hanging off the back of 'em).

Compared to most home-use speaker parts, the 511Bs are pretty gigantic. The 811B isn't what I would call "small." Altec didn't intend 1505s for use in your living room unless you live in a castle. :D

1) Not at my house...

Here's a 511B being tested with an AR-2 (bass only) in the basement a few months back...

2) No castle dwellers in the Northern New England Tube Group, but at least one pair of A5s with 1505s.

Have you tried that little HK receiver in your main system?

That series from HK was very nice sounding.I had the integrated. It sounded awesome.

Nope, it doesn't seem to have any tubes in it. :-)
I use it for dubbing, for testing, and for experiments (such as the one shown); it is lightweight and always easy to find in the pile downstairs :-) It sounds pretty OK.

In the photo above, a JBL crossover that happened to be handy was used to feed the 511B equipped with a cheap Pyle driver; the AR-2's bass section was used "as is". Used the hk in "mono", one channel feeding the compression driver via the XO and the other, the woofer. The receiver's balance control was used to match the two (easier than you might expect) - MacGyver would be proud.
