Another lucky day at the Goodwill.... second stop at luch today and stepped over some speaker to check a shelf item turned out to be a nothing receiver so I stepped back over the same speaker and noticed real oak veneer.
Turned her over and suprise! altec lansing logo lower right of the speaker grille. I immediately looked for the other one and further down the aisle the twin. They need surrounds and were half priced at 14.99/pair, Altec Lansing Three series II, pure luck 'cause I nearly didn't bother to check that first one out.
Already ordered the surrounds hope to have the first listen this weekend.

Surrounds are in and the Altecs really shine on lighter classical music and jazz (specifically stringed acoustic instruments)
I A/B'd them with a pair of KLH 17's and they do have the added ability
for lower bass ext. but I believe they are equal at mid and upper ranges in presenting acoustic guitar very faithfully.
