Alternative transistor list/ AU20K?

Been doing a recap on this AU20K, which has been going(newbe) s-l-o-w. Now as I read on AK there are a lot of parts that the general consensus is-while your in there, you really SHOULD replace (fill in blank).
Especially with transistors. I get the OEM, find mention of its recommended alternative, can't find
it anywhere, as the AK post is, for example, 2005!
This happens a lot, maybe something to do with the fact the amp is 45+ years old!;)
So was there, is there an alternative trans list? sure it's true it seems Sansui made these with different parts all along, adding to the mystery/ I can take the long route of finding alt's myself, but if it's been done-why reinvent the wheel.
finding all the differences in this circa 1975, I've been taking photo's all along the way, will post when recap/rebuild is complete.

Firstly you do not need to change transistors if they are not faulty.

However, there is a list of transistors here on AK (in the 'Solid State' subforum) which should now be changed for modern substitutes because with age they are known to be troublemakers.

Finally, if you want to know what others on AK are using as replacements for certain transistors just type their 'type number' into the search box (above right) and hit 'search'. You should get many hits for when the transistor in the search box has come up in discussions, and what was used to replace them and why.
