AM Antenna Holder for SX-1250

Thanks for all the help guys. I will try to rig up a way to make it work. It seems that it is snapped in half where on the thin shaft. I think I can put something in there as a splint and wrap it with some cloth tape or something. I am still getting decent AM reception anyway...I just want this baby to look like new!

thanks again, you guys are the best

I have the Sansui AM antenna holders. If you can give me some of the dimentions of the Pioneer piece, I could try to match it up.

What is the the ball diameter and the length and diameter of the antenna shaft that has the ball on the end. Pictures would help too.

Hi, Pete, do you still have any Sansui 9090 AM antenna holder to sell? Thanks.

Here are the potential donor units:

QX 949
QX 9900
SX 1010
SX1050
SX828
SX950
TX1000
TX800
TX8100
TX9100
TX9500
SX1250

I used a sansui holder on a 1050 but you have to use the ball and sleve that slides over the antenna from the sansui as well. I drilled two holes to make it fit and just put the screws back in the empty holes. Looked good!

I have noticed a LOT of wall type speaker mounts that are ball and socket, that might just be adaptable if the right size is found....

I just haven't had the time to check it out...

I still have a good supply of Sansui mounts. Send me a PM for details.

They don't work the existing ball socket on Pioneer models. The two mounts are very different. The only source for the ball shaft that Paul mentioned is from a Sansui antenna. If the diameters of the antenna tubes are the same, that should work fine. But by the time you hunt down a Sansui antenna to use as a donor, you may as well chase down a Pioneer mount from one of the models that use it.

It's a longshot but there's a guy on ebay right now that "may" be of help. Just last night I purchased a long sought after SX-1250 case from him. In a return email he let me know that he has other SX-1250 parts available.

Just go to ebay and search Pioneer SX-1250 and you'll see his ads, if you're interested in trying. Good luck!.......................R1
