Amp for Yamaha NS-1000

I acquired quite recently a pair of Yamaha NS-1000. From my first listening, no doubt these are great speakers, rendering piano and violin equally well, but I have to match the rest with these (today using a Siemens RE-777 amp in a room with nake walls)
For the amp, I am inclined to try some vintage Sansui stuff like AU-999, reputed to be a bit warm but untertaining (and well built). Am I completely wrong? Has anybody experience with this kind of match? Any advice?
For the room (20 sq meters) , I will fine tune with acoustic panels and rugs, as experience tells me to do. But advices are wellcome too.

I like Yamaha, so I run a C4/M4 or C80/M80 on my NS1000's. But, I have done a fair amount of reading about the NS1000's, and have seen many positive comments about driving them with Sansui.

These will sound good with almost any amp. I have tried many Sansuis including the AU 999, the 9500, the later alpha models, and the AU 111G vintage (tube amp) with mine. If you like the amp you will like it with these speakers.

Hi Ivy, I have owned and used a pair of NS-1000s since they first came out in the mid 1970s. They seem to work best with powerful precise amps (I have had best results with a succession of McIntosh and have used a Mac 7104 with a 712 pre-amp, 7083 tuner and Oppo CD for years now). Garbage in - Garbage out is key here since they are sensitive and will amplify bad audio if that's what they are fed. Coincidentally I have recently become curious about Sansui and have a 9090 on order and am waiting out the 12 week build time. The only problem has required the woofers to be rebuildt a few years ago. I like low to medium volume and have settled on a 6 speaker setup (NS-1000s + NS-670s and Tannoys) in my very small listening area. Enjoy!

I use Yamaha C-4/M-4 or CX-800/MX-1000 or CX-2/MX-2.
All of those sounds very impressive with NS-1000.

I have both a Yamaha B-2 and the Nelson Pass DIY VFET amp. I bought some NS-1000 years ago and the seller installed dual binding posts for bi-amping (he also upgraded the caps). When I get my Yamaha C-70 fixed, is it possible to use the inverted out and normal out, so that I can bi-amp the Nelson Vfet to the midrange and tweeter, as well as the B2 to the woofers? The manual shows how you can use the inverted jacks with one stereo amp, by using one inverted input and one normal input, so I wondered if you could bi-amp with the other unused inputs?

Also, speaking of the C-70, the input jacks on the pre-out are loose and drop the connection. Could I swap the input jack module from phono 1/2 with the preout ones? They look the same, but not sure, and don't want to mess anything up when I desolder them.
