Amp hum-static on right channel

I recently picked up a super clean JVC SEA MCA-105E 5107 amp and it functions well with one exception. When I power it up there is the sound of background hum or "static" on the right channel only, not unlike FM static if you were slightly off the signal. It is not on the left channel (I switched speakers just to be sure), appears on A or B speaker connections, does not vary with volume and the selected input source does not make any difference. Suggestions for troubleshooting welcome!

For anyone following this post, I took the amp to a local trusted tech who diagnosed a failing transistor on the right channel. While he was in there, he replaced the same one on the left side.
