Budget ??

Is a tuner a necessity or can you stream the FM stations from your phone/tablet via BT ?

There are several manufacturers that make reasonably affordable new gear >$1000 that have all the features and power you could need.

Another option is to add a decent BT receiver to your existing setup since you seem to enjoy it already. Available for under $100.

i would like a amp to plug my TT, CD , and FM would be nice too.
Budget 500 to 700 canadian, would not mind used.
Something not loud but has balls , bass, and clarity .
thx

Add Bluetooth to a Marantz 2235.
i did , and for some reasons there was a problem with the sound , maybe it was not connected in the proper input, or maybe there is electrical problem with the ground….
I could sell the amp , get money and buy a all in one that has a tuner with memory presets.
My friend tells me when the 2235 was sold back in the days it was about 400$ approx, today a similar amp would cost $2000.
Not sure about that since lots of audio is made in china .
Anyway, Keep on bringing some infos, I no nothing about amps , prices, and all the tralala.

You keep mentioning "Amp", you say you want an "Amp" that is comparable to your Marantz 2235 which is a "Receiver"

Help us help you and clarify what it is you are actually looking for a Receiver is not an Amp

Try more than $2000. More like double or a bit more than that price, to get anything close to quality, and won't be a receiver. Will be an integrated.

sorry , yes a receiver but modern since its limited toward bluetooth and lack of radio presets .
I like the sound of my marantz for sure, but it has its limitation with new gadgets

If FM pre-sets are must try looking for a Luxman R-11X series receiver, they are well thought of and pack a pretty good punch.

Another nice thing is depending on the model they came with remote control, for example the Luxman R-115

It's bluetooth.. an imperfect, yet convenient, wireless technology.. it has limitations..

Did you try a different input, what was the problem with the sound, what were you bluetoothing, from what device..?!?
and all that tralala...

This is the model, and when you have a CD and turntable there is not a lot of input to plug this unit

When I took it off from the amp , the sound came alive and more powerful,it was draining its volume and sound quality for some reasons

A good place to start with is correct terminology. A Marantz 2235 is a receiver. It has a preamplifier/control center, an AM/FM tuner and a power amplifier. Many AK posters use receivers. There are also many who use separates.

You can go to separates where all three devices are separately housed in their own box/case. You can have an integrated amplifier which has a preamp/control center and power amplifier in one box. Lastly, you can have an integrated amplifier which means, power amplifier and preamplifier/control center. With separates and integrated amplifiers, you have the option of adding an FM tuner if you want.

The FM tuner market is barely hanging in there. If you can connect a networked PC to your stereo, you can either stream from an online streaming service (such as Radio Paradise, Amazon, Quoboz, or Spotify) or use an app such as Radio Garden or TuneIn for any of the thousands of worldwide radio stations.

AFAIK: Most digital tuners and receivers with a digital tuner display offer presets.

If your current receiver doesn't have enough inputs you can add an external switchbox that has multiple inputs. Plug your devices into the switchbox and the box into any unused input except Phono.

thanks the option of external switch box makes sense thx

I just bought an Andover Audio Songbird Music Streamer. It has WIFI and Blutooth. It's controlled by your smart phone. This will solve your problems. Gives you blutooth connectivity, hooks up to your WIFI, with the app you can use Tunein to play radio stations, with presets, and the sound is awesome.

I forgot tuner/preamps. They have a preamplifier and AM/FM tuner in one box. Adcom made several different models. All of them have GTP as the prefix to the model number

When you took what off the amp(receiver)..? What came alive and more powerful.?
Are you using a phone, tablet, computer..? To stream the music.. did you try a hardwire..? 3.5 to rca..

With the cd and tt, you still have 2 inputs, but you could also unplug the cd and use that input just to test things..
