Ampex 2044 Suitcase Amps

I picked up a pair of Ampex 2044 suitcase amps this past weekend for $80. They look to be in excellent shape with brown cases. Ampex suitcase amps have been on my radar for many years but I haven't been able to find much info on this (2044) version.

Does anyone have a schematic or any info on the 2044 model? I assume it's probably similar to the 2010 but I'm wondering what differences there might be.

Good find, especially for the price!
Here is some info on the 2044:
  • designed for use with the Ampex F44 series machines (F-4450/4452/4460/4470).
  • F44 brochure has a little info on last page
  • F44 owners manual has more info on p.26
But no schematic. If you can't find one, consider using the latest Ampex amp schematic you can find (2012? 612?) as a starting point, then mark it up as you inspect your amps.

Thanks for the info. I won't have any time to actually work on them for quite a while. I'll probably just put them both on the variac sometime and see if they're functional.
