Ampex/Goodmans 2115.....buy or pass?

Do not need these or sure how I would use them yet, but they are rare and interesting to me. Found a little information was available and was hoping some AK folks could help with the details, experiences etc...
Seller's ad says they are all original and in good working order. Also, available for audition. Thought I would go check them out. I am new to this and not sure my ear would be enough to make an informed decision other than whether they sound good to me.
He is asking $100.00. Was only able to find one other sale for these and the price was 4x more.

Those are really beautiful, and would probably be fun to own. From the literature, it appears that each small driver is wired independently to provide different frequency response. Go get 'em!

The seller was a couple hours away. Made the trip and glad I did. Really great guy who's had the vintage bug for over 25 years and 40+ pairs of speakers collected along the way. Was time to thin the herd, as he put it. He had these Ampex 2115 for several years and had just not got around to doing much with them. He found them at an estate sale. I left with the speakers and place to go pickin from again down the road.

ra.ra, you had mentioned literature. Any detailed information about these that you could pass along would be appreciated.

I like most thing with the Ampex badge on them especially their Reel to Reel tape machines,nice sounding larger bookshelf speaker,have you anything in the way of a tube amp to try with these,their not bass reflex so will need a bit of power to open up about 30-60 wpc tube should do it.They present well in the looks department also.

hunter00, do not have a tube amp yet. Only one foot down this rabbit hole so far. Just getting a little bit here and there as my beer budget (domestic) allows. Know nothing about tube amps yet, so any thoughts you have about what to look for would be appreciated. Will keep an eye out for one down the road.

Az,i started into tubes after 30 yrs of solid state amps/preamps/recievers/integrated you name it.Id suggest something vintage,making sure its recapped before buying,I started with a Dynaco st70 {el34 opt} for about 30 wpc.Ive owned a couple of them ,for a few more bucks and power you could pick up a pair of Dynaco mono blocks {dynaco mkiii}for around a grand.
Of course youll need a tube preamp like their matching dynaco pas2/3
Its a slippery slope,today I was at my tech buddies and listened all day to his Mcintosh 60 mono blocks/HK Citation 1 preamp{Tannoy DMT15 speakers}
on the floor infront of the system were 2 HK Citation 2{deuce's} ready for full Mc Shane recaps
Right now I'm listening to my Fisher 50A mono blocks{1954} exquisite sound
Youll have to set a budget and decide where your price point is,for many of us weve been collecting for decades sorting out whats best to meet out criteria of sound quality we want.
Sure this gear will bite into your beer budget but at the end of the day its in your listening room and not down a urinal
