Ampex Worth 2500$???

Amen to that. I have two of em in my garage that I'm having a hard time gutting. One's a nice little Maggie with sliding doors that belonged to a friend of ours and was given to us by his wife after he passed. I know it would make a nice set of monoblocks and the TT is not worth using anyway, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
 
yep somethings should be gutted ampex and fisher consoles are one. I don't have a problem gutting custom console, because I know its not factory made.
 
i bought a clean ampex console for $10 about 14 years ago in college. it had the tuner, preamp, garrard TT, the EL84 monoblocks, the R2R and pretty lame looking drivers.

i sold the amps, preamp and tuner in 1995 for $350, gave the speakers and R2R to a friend. and gave my roommate the cabinet - which he turned into a slick looking wet bar.

Yes not, for some reason I have been forgetting to type n't on the ending of some words.

I will contact them after the estate sale and see if they sold it. Curious as to what they will get for it and also all the interesting comments :D
