Amplifier trouble

I have an art dj pree II amp, Fluance rt82, and Panosonic Ra 6600. I had everything hooked up and it sounded great. I move the system and now there's a loud hum when the tone arm is on a record. I've replaced the cables, even tried a different amp, and checked the ground cable. Nothing seems to help.

It doesn't hum if I ground the tt to the receiver and dont use the amp. I've thought about plugging up the amp but grounding to the receiver. Just to see if that worked.

If you moved to a new power wall outlet verify it is properly wired and grounded with an inexpensive wall plug tester. Could be part of the issue.

I'm connecting the av cables from the turntable into the in jacks on the amp and running another set of avs from the output of the amp into the phono input on the receiver.

I also got another amp with a MM input but have the same problem with it.

So, two amps (or receivers), and they both have hum when the turntable is connected. But, no hum when the turntable is not connected. Right?

Have you tried another interconnect between the turntable and the amps?

No hum if turntable is connected and grounded to the receiver but hums if connected to either amp.

To show my total ignorance, what would be another interconnect?

It sounds to me like you are double phono amping.

I believe the output of the DJ pre needs to go into a normal input like tape or aux or whatever, but NOT into the receiver's phono input.

A usual phono interconnect. Both ends could be straight RCA-type plugs.

I double-checked and the Fluance doesn't have a pre-amp so would this be the case?
Draw me a picture. Maybe I don't follow your descriptions of what you have connected.

What I read is TT > Dj pre > phono input on receiver.

You're using two phono amps. The output from the Art DJ pre should be plugged into the aux inputs on the receiver. Don't use the phono inputs on the receiver. That may not help the hum, but it will improve your audio.
