Amplifiers with more than 5 inputs (excluded phono inputs)

Hi everyone, I've been wondering out of sheer curiosity (and because of a question of a friend) if you've seen amplifiers with more than 5 component inputs (not including PHONO). I have a Yamaha CA2010 with AUX1/2, TAPE 1/2 and Tuner, but I've never seen one with, say AUX 3.

Do you know of any such beasts in existence?

Greetings;
Perhaps shared.. like vcr or tape 1-2 ? There are RCA and cable type switch boxes if your 'amigo' has need for that.

Oh that was the recommendation, also a preamp with more inputs but I was thinking if some monster amp in the past had 6 inputs or such.

Not a beast, but the Luxman R-113 on my desk has Video-1, Video-2, and CD in addition to two tape loops. (NB: while designated for video, you had to step up to the R-115 or R-117 to actually get video switching built into the receiver.)

I also have a few switch boxes that I use when I feel like dragging out an older piece of tube gear with only one aux/tape input.

If you count tape inputs, I don't think having more than 5 inputs on a preamp or high end integrated amp is that uncommon.

For example, if you include tape inputs, my Acurus L10 preamp has 6 inputs (Tape 1, Tape 2, AUX, Tuner, D/A and CD).

If your friend has an amp he likes, it's easy to add more inputs using something like a Pro-Ject Switch Box Input Expander:

One of the Niles AXP-1, or similar, input selectors:

Or, make you own:

There are lots of preassembled PCBs and kits on eBay. Some even have remote controls.

There are lots of options. No reason to pass on an otherwise perfectly great amp just because you need another input, or two.

Tuner
SACD
CD
HT Direct
(and Phono, but not counting this)

This has a phono input, four RCA stereo inputs, two coaxial digital inputs, and one optical digital input, for a total of seven inputs not counting the phono. Peace and goodwill.

Haha yeah I definitely will. And as a technician he's something we don't see around that much, he delivers reports, he investigates the causes.. He does things right, how crazy is that :D
