An Excellent Reason for Running The Dual With The Cover In Place

Dual Turntables Super-Restorer
Bet you haven't heard this one yet.

My Cockatoo perched on the armtube, with a record in play.
Thank goodness I was using the Stanton, rather than the Shure Type III.
Nothing is broken, but this is one heavy bird.

My cat gets to her favorite place to sleep via one of our computers desks then to the monitor jumps across to the stereo, then TT, then jumps to my deck from the TT to the top of my full tower computer to a box with her blanket located on top of my fire proof file cabinet. She likes to sit on the TT when its playing. She was a stray kitten that my daughter found one cold day walking home from the bus stop. I've never been so attached to a pet like I am our cat Rascle.

So I guess that you got "the bird".

Maybe you should go back to a 1019. Larger diameter tonearm - more bird friendly perch.

My pet hits the turntable, it's all over - 130 lbs of Irish Setter...

Pretty cat.

My cockatoo has nothing but orthopedic perches in his cage. Dual machines are not orthopedic.

Ouch Seth!!!

I adopted a kitten last Thanksgivng. So far she has not attacked any of my Duals. Got five hooked up. All have dust covers!! I am moving and will be getting down to three :tears: Will have to deal with a girlfriend. Room for one system. Perhaps a small one in the furnace room. At least I will have a dedicated work bench!!! :D But rents are getting out of hand here in southeast NY. I will save $6000 to $8000 a year!!! :D

Heres a pic of the beast I adopted

That reminds me of when I was a kid, and my cat wanted out-side. He would start jumping from my left Speaker onto my Tape-Deck, then onto my Turn-table, and then onto my right speaker, and then start going back the other direction. He was smart enough to know that I would waste no time at all in pitching him outside whenever he tried this routine!

My HPM 100's have been through 4 cats and one dog and my brother inlaws Quaker Parrot (Captain Visits Sometimes and has had near perfect manners though not potty trained yet). I just keep lint brushing and clipping the snags. One of my speakers has a run in the grill cloth now. They still sound wonderful.

I had a pile of lps sitting on the floor years ago and the cat decided that would be a nice place to have a pis for himself. Well those lps stunk for years after that little incident. Bad kitty had some male body parts removed from him by the local vet shortly after that incident and then we became best friends.

That is one strong smell. Baking soda is good for killing odors but bad for the grooves in lp's.

One day, when my cockatoo is older, he will apologize for the incident.
These birds are not known as great talkers, when compared to Amazons, Quakers, Macaws, or African Greys, but at least are cuddly.

Captain can sing a little of I believe I can fly. He loves to sing old McDonald had a farm. My brother in law was given one of the camping tent displays (setup as a connected 3 room family tent) for Captian. When he's in the tent he's very territorial and very vocal. He loves to stick his head out of the tent and say here kitty, kitty, kitty to thier cat and then duck back inside. Sometimes they put him in a paper bag and he laughs so much when he's in it we all end up belly laughing. He's alot fun to be around and everyone enjoys him.
