Another one I have to consider when going the 300B route. I have decided against the ANK, Elekit and Bottlehead for various reasons. Gravitated towards either the Sarah 300B or the Aric Audio Super 300B SET. Perhaps this kit is the answer. Would be very interested to hear from anyone who builds a pair of these.

I don't believe AE is offering these monoblocks as a kit, yet.

That makes the price quite reasonable especially considering the tubes are included.
I will say my SET amp I built from AE is the quietest tube amp I've ever heard. Ear to speaker and still nothing audible even with volume at 100%, when no incoming signal.

so much near me that I had no idea bout... I was friends with the late Mike LeFevre through motorcycling. I knew that he was "into" tube amps, but I had no idea that his transformers were so highly regarded and now Analog Ethos, but it makes sense, considering that RCA, Dynaco and Hafler all originated in the Philadelphia area...

Care to elaborate on why the Elekit and Bottlehead?

Sure. I have read a lot of positive reviews about these two kits and I trust that they sound good for what they are. I have also gathered that to get a truly great sounding 300B the transformers and tubes must be of a certain quality. This quality comes at a price, which appears to be greater than the cost of these complete kits. I was THIS close to ordering the Bottlehead, but after additional reading of reviews comparing it to the next level of 300B offerings, decided to wait until I could justify the additional expense of the next tier of 300B's. The problem with relying on reviews is I am basing a decision on someone else's hearing, in their room, with their speakers and preamplifier. I would much rather base my decision on actually hearing these in my space, but what are the odds of that happening?

The biggest reason for me not seeking instant gratification with the Bottlehead or Elekit is I would like to avoid "upgrade-itis". The trouble with this hobby is most of us are looking for the next level of improvement, whether real or imaginary. I have been down that road before, and sure the journey can be fun, but I would like to avoid that and make one purchase and be done with it.

The optional Lundahl transformers you get with the Elekit TU-8900 are top of the line. You're unlikely to find a better quality transformer at any price in any amplifier. What you don't get with Elekit is the fancy case or a remote control.

The Elekit TU-8900 with Lundahl option is very intriguing for sure. Remote control is not required, but nice. Nice feature is the ability to use 2A3's as well. I thought about it though. Sometimes analysis paralysis is a real thing. What is your honest assessment of your setup? Do you see it as an end game amplifier or a current resident? I very much appreciate actual users feedback. Educate me please!
:)

As I've mentioned before in this forum, the TU-8900 with Lin Lai Global Elite 2A3's is my main rig. I probably listen to it 4 to 5 hours a day. It is so easy to listen to and so satisfying, I can't imagine what I would replace it with. Being the nut that I am however, I'll probably get the Elekit TU-4523 which can run either 2A3 or 45 tubes. I don't need another amp, but these kits are so much fun to build and satisfying to use. Also, I'm intrigued by the 45 tube. I'm not sure what I'll use. New ones are very expensive, NOS or used are dicey. If you want high end transformers, Victor will be selling Lundahl's with silver wire that will triple the price of the amp. These transformers are $6600 a pair.
