Analogue speakers and WiFi speakers simultaneously

I have a Wiim Pro Plus, with the RCA outs connected to my vintage receiver, playing streaming services like Spotify via WiFi, to my vintage analog system with hardwired speakers.

Is there a way I can add a pair of WiFi speakers to this setup and play them wirelessly, simultaneously with the wired speakers?

Thanks!

How can I play a pair of WiFi speakers and a pair of wired speakers simultaneously, using a Wiim and a vintage receiver?

Do I need to add another gadget, like a WiFi transmitter? If so, would a Wiim Mini do the trick (can it transmit WiFi, or Bluetooth only)?

I don't think you can. Are the WiFi speakers in another room? I'm not sure why you want to do this. Let us know exactly what you're trying to do here and maybe someone can figure out a way to do it.

Are the Wi-Fi speakers powered and Bluetooth capable? If so, get a Bluetooth transmitter. Split the output from the Wiim and drive the receiver and the Bluetooth transmitter simultaneously.

I have no knowledge of Wiim products. I prefer using a laptop and external DAC for my streaming. It allows for a lot more flexibility.

How far away would the 2nd set of speakers be? Even if you have a BT transmitter it's range is rather limited especially with walls and floors between the signal path. Can't you hardwire a 2nd set of speakers? As long as your vintage amp is 4 ohm capable, it should drive 2 pair of 8 Ohm speakers.

Thank you all.

Right now the second set of speakers is wired, approx 18 ft away, no significant obstacles. But my intention is to get rid of the wires.

I’d be willing to buy a pair of wireless speakers - ideally (and if possible) capable of receiving WiFi (not Bluetooth).

My Wiim Pro Plus is pretty versatile, it can receive and transmit WiFi, and has a good DAC and ADC. It currently receives via WiFi and is wired via RCA out to my receiver.
But it may not be able to send sound via WiFi to wireless speakers at the same time - you have to pick what output you want to use. I doubt that it can do both DAC and ADC conversions at the same time.

So maybe I do need to add a transmitter. Are there any affordable transmitters that can do WiFi (relatively lossless) and work with decent speakers?

So then it comes down to:
can someone recommend an affordable (good quality sound) transmitter, capable of sending via WiFi?
If not WiFi, at least a good Bluetooth transmitter that doesn’t break the bank?

'Wireless' speakers still need power...

That’s right. Duh!
And from what I understand, some wireless speaker pairs seem to even require to be connected to one another, by wire.

In the end there is no true wireless. Sigh!

Unless, of course, there are decent battery-operated speakers by now. Does anyone know of any? They’d then still have to be plugged in for charging, but at least you wouldn’t look at wires all the time.

Also, WiFi speakers seem to be rare, most wireless speakers I have come across so far, are Bluetooth.

Looks like reducing footprint, limiting wires, integrating my old system, while still having decent sound quality (for all sources), all at the same time, may turn out to be a pipe dream of mine.

https://audioengine.com/ Here is example of wireless gear.
Thank you. I came across AE before I got my Wiim. Since you seem to have experience:
Does AE offer WiFi (or just Bluetooth)?
Do they have battery operated speakers (pre-chargeable)?
Is AE gear compatible with other brands, or do I need to use proprietary gear, e.g. do I need to match AE speakers to an AE transmitter?

I think the simplest solution would be a second Wiim, and a set of wired speakers. You could either get the Wiim Mini and add a little chip amp like the Fosi bt20a, or just get a Wiim Amp. Your two Wiims would then be part of the same multi-room system and could be played together or separately. I think Wiim even has the ability to adjust delay between the two.

I briefly wondered about something like that.
just want to make sure I get this right. Can you elaborate a bit more?

When you suggest to add a set of wired speakers, do you mean wireless speakers, or maybe active/powered wireless speakers?

Would this solution allow me to transmit via WiFi to the speakers, or via Bluetooth?

Would my vintage receiver (and sources like CD player and turntable) still be part of that equation or would a chip amp (or Wiim amp) replace the receiver?

Thank you!

Your OP talked only about a Wiim feeding an amp, and wanting to drive additional speakers. So I guess we assumed only wanting to consider streaming sources, not CD or phono.

However, the Wiim amp has both optical digital and analogue inputs. These can drive the amp, but I'm not sure if they can be streamed to another Wiim. Maybe the more expert Wiim users, like @chicks might be able to advise.

I have never used more than one Wiim at a time, so I'm not totally sure how it works, but I know they can be used in multi room setups.

My suggestion would be a separate system, with it's own amp, so it would not be wired in any way to your main system, but it would be a self contained system that could mirror (through Wifi) whatever you are streaming on your main system Wiim Pro, or play on it's own. Either a Wiim Amp, which does all the things your Wiim Pro does, but also can power wired speakers, or a "regular" Wiim with a separate amp, like the Fosi I mentioned.

A local analog path and a wirelessly connected digital path will have different delays. How do you propose to synchronize them?

I think you need to provide a lot more information about what you want to do for the "wireless speakers". Are you trying to have sound in multiple rooms -- or trying to have a second set of speakers in the same room.

It sounds like you don't have the second set of speakers yet, so maybe describe what you want more clearly, and then we can suggest what to use for the second set.

For multi-room, I used "group" on Chromecast -- you could for example "cast" spotify to your Wiim and simultaneously cast to a second set of Chromecast-capable speakers. I use it for different rooms, so I'm not sure how close the time-alignment of group casting is if they were in the same room.
