Andrew Jones designed Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Bookshelf Speakers$65

Mine are shipped - should be at my delivery drop tomorrow. But I won't get there to pick them up for a few weeks probably.

Mine arrived earlier today. I bought these for my desk at work but I had to hook them up at home and give them a listen. They're currently connected to a McIntosh MA6600 and sound pretty good so far - I'm impressed! I assume with a few more hours they'll open more and sound even better. Not bad at all for $65! I just hope the Marantz 2220B at work has enough muscle for them since they seem to be a little inefficient.

They do indeed have a surprising amount of bass for such a small speaker.

I noticed no change on mine after many hr's. UMMV. I do like them. going over to listen to a hot-roded one in a few weeks. Will report back.

Mine I ordered last Saturday evening are still preparing for shipment! :worried:

With a "Delivery Estimate Thursday, June 12, 2014 - Tuesday, June 17, 2014 by 8:00pm." They're going to have to get hustlin' to make that first date tomorrow.

I think they must be punishing me for not joining "Prime".

Mine arrive tomorrow too. $65 new speakers? Hopes are high, but expectations are more moderate.
Thanks for the notice on the short price drop. Wife is just shaking her head :)

Dangit! I missed the sale. My dad bought me the sub that goes with these for my birthday and I was hoping to complete the set.

Just got done hooking min up to a 70wpc technics sa550

They sound nice but they will not replace my speakerlab das 7's or my klipsch
Kg 5.2's

Mine have some minor fit and finish issues

I will give them a little more time

Has anybody directly compared the 22s with the SP-BS41-LR? I'm just curious as to which one is the best. I'll probably buy one or the other when they go on sale again.

How much power does it take to drive these speakers? I have a vintage receiver in my bedroom that has 52 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Is this plenty of power for them?

Yep. Not going to replace my mains, but I thinks it's fair to say this much, cliche and overused as it sounds....$65 cannot be spent on speakers better than these. Been playing all day since arriving at 1pm. The reviews and thoughts are plenty and largely accurate. To bad they don't have much if any WAF/aesthetics to them....

Happy to have them, will make plenty of music using them not storing them, may even see if I can assemble a very budget system around them...

Is this a great hobby or what?

Absolutely amazing deal. I've been holding out on these, ever since the earlier BS41's and finally bit at the lowest I've ever seen these go. I'm very impressed with the clarity, tonal balance, and soundstage. They also have surprising bass (mild bass hump) and are surprisingly efficient. I really do wish I had bought more pairs.

My main complaint is that the tweeter can be harsh, despite it being a darker-voiced speaker. My Equator D8's are much more transparent and detailed, but the Pioneer's are just a good hifi speaker. Currently driving them with a 80wpc Denon PMA-757 but will be trying my $36 SMSL SA-36a Pro (TPA3116/3118D2 chip amp) once it arrives. If they sound good together which I expect they will, I can't think of a better system for $101, new OR used.

$126 today. I just checked when looking for a referral for another AKer.

You guys did good
