Andy Gill has passed away.

Andy Gill from Gang of Four has died. I was, and still am, a big fan. Hammered their records to death back in the day. Sad day.

Gill, and his guitar style has been a huge influence on any number of guitarists over the years. I hear it in many contemporary bands.

Saw them play in Montreal at some Bavarian Beer Garden in the early 80's. I don't remember what year it was but I remember that show, it's burned into my brain cells.

I'm a fan... though I have to admit a rather casual fan as I only own one record, Entertainment. They had a really unique, powerful sound though (and a lot to say!) and Gill;s guitar was a big part of that. I must put on some of their music...

Saw them 2 of 3 nights at the Ritz! My tastes have changed since then, but these shows are some of the best in memory.
