A new crime drama on TNT, based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name. The premise:
17 year-old Josh ("J") Cody is left alone when his mother dies of a heroin OD. He calls his estranged grandmother (Jeanine Cody, aka/"Smurf"), and she takes him in to live at her house, where J soon learns that she is the matriarch of the Cody family criminal enterprise. Smurf wants to integrate J into the business, but gets resistance from a couple of her sons. The plot thickens....
Addendum: Although they try to stay loyal to the original film, this show has clearly been "Americanized"....I see similarities to "Point Break", "Sons of Anarchy", and "Heat"....I`m guessing they need a lot of filler material to stretch a 2-hour movie out into a series....
