Anniversary series?

Is the anything different or special about this fisher 90-r tuner? I have a series 90 that’s just fm. Were there non anniversary 90r’s?

Yeah, anniversary of what? Sounds like marketing got creative. And those ugly white muting buttons clash with the look.
That said, it seems like a rare and cool Fisher.

Avery Fisher started Philharmonic Radio in 1937, which morphed into Fisher Radio in late '45 or Early 46. 1957 was the 20th Anniversary of him starting the Company (counting from Philharmonic Radio). So everything in was Anniverary Series. The 1962 units again had an Anniversary (25th....)and the moniker was carried over for a few years. It wasn't so much a marketing ploy, but Avery Fisher tooting his own horn, so to speak.
