Another Advent stacking question

deaner33

Drew loves Thin Lizzy
I recently got a pair of New Large Advents (thanks davidb!) and would love to have a set of stacked Advents, but I have space issues in my listening room - the ceiling is too low for stacked Large Advents. Has anyone stacked other smaller Advent models with the Large Advents. I have stacked my Advent/9's on my Large Advents and are running them from the A & B speaker outputs on my SX-950. I am interested in the Small Advents but they are 4 ohm's and am worried that might not be a good idea to stack them with Larges. Any opinions/advice/warnings?

How low is your ceiling? 2 stacked Large Advents = 4.3 feet + 8 inch stand = 5 feet. I have doubles and am going to attempt triples but unless I start on the floor it'll be dicey at best, not to mention the instability of 3 stacked speakers. My ceilings are 7.5 feet. You sould be able to accomondate 5 feet of double large which includes an 8 inch stand.

It's a room above my garage and the ceiling is essentially A shaped. What about Advent 1's? How much smaller are they? The Advent/9's don't sound bad stacked with the Larges, but the 9's have an 8 inch woofer and I was wanting a little more punch.

Build some short stands, and stack them horizontally with the tweeters facing out. Also works really good for those who like to take them to the ceiling -- say four or five pairs. :)

I have Large Advents and Advent 3's stacked tweeter to tweeter. Advent 3's appear to be about 18". They sound awesome to me.
