Another Cartridge/Headshell Suggestion Thread — Jelco 750D

I recently grabbed a Jelco 750d off of bartertown on the advice of several AK'ers. I plan on using it with a ROK N34H with an upgraded Esoteric Sound motor kit.

I've been digging around a bit and found most people love the Jelco/Denon DL-103 combo or better yet, the Zu Audio version.

I've also read a few mixed opinions of the stock Jelco head shell with some reccos pointing to an Oyaide.

Looking for additional suggestions that AK'ers that they love. I've messed with calculating compliance to see if carts are a match but not only does this have my head spinning, but I don't have the funds to try out several combos. All in, I'd like to keep it under 500, with $350 being a sweet spot, knowing I can upgrade in the future.

Last thing, I do have a stanton 681 eee mk iii kicking around, but not sure if this would be a good mate.

there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the jelco shell. TWO retaining pins, high end wire--litz, similar to the sumiko and aq, PLUS adjustable azimuth (if need be), AND high quality construction and materials.

one could try the orsonic:

and there are numerous wooden ones from ortofon etc:

I have the Orsonic AV11B headshell . Real nice. But there is nothing wrong with the Jelco headshell as hifitommy pointed out.

Is there a resource to compare different Orsonic models? I trust you all about the Jelco, but I'm a sucker for aesthetics.

Edit. Looks like it's just weight. Also, found an old Japanese brochure
