Sooooo,I spy a desirable item on CL.Send an E-mail WITH my phone # .
2 days go by NADA. Look up the ad,yep still there.Send another E-mail mentioning this is my second message and asking if the item still available.
This time I get a response.......

'' Yep - i DO NOT CHECK MY E-MAIL OFTEN - SORRY '' . :wtf:

Yep ? . :scratch2: . Yep what ?
I think that means they still have it. . :dunno:
I sent another message with my # again.
Not much else I can do.

Huh? This does not confuse me at all. You asked a second time if it's available. He responds 'yep...', with a reason for his delayed response.

A lot of perfectly viable lifestyles in this country don't involve a necessity for email.

Seriously ?
How about a little more info ?....like how do I reach him / her ? When might they be available for me to see the item ?

Then why make that the only way to respond to the ad ??
I sent my phone #.
I tried telepathy but I don't know who to direct the energy to.
I only have a little bit of Indian in me and I don't know **** about smoke signals. How would they know to look for them anyway?
Past that,I'm fresh out of ideas.

Alright Stephen- I gotcha now. I'd agree, but you could walk on I suppose... if it's that sort of a hassle for you.

Patience OP. He got back to you. I've had people who don't even pick up the phone for three days. You don't know what this person does. Take it easy.

Yep,that's always the case.I just figured if they took the time to respond in the first place they would offer some sort of contact instructions. Not just a one line response that leads nowhere. . :sigh:

Did you provide your number in either email? If I'm serious the initial inquiry always includes my phone number with an invitation to hit me back however is best for them.

I called a guy once about his Sansui Eight he had for sale, conversation went a little like this:

Me: Hi, i'm calling in response to your craigslist for the Sansui Eight, is that still available?
Him: Yep
Me: *pause* oh...well can you tell me anything about it or like it's condition?
Him: Work's great, use it everyday
Me: (at this point i'm at a loss as to what to say because he's being so gruff) Okay good, well cosmetically is there anything worth mentioning?
Him: *hangs up*

Like wtf? This guy clearly did not wanna sell his receiver. I didn't even get the chance to talk about buying it or the price or anything. Anyway this story kind of reminds me yours. Hopefully your experience ends up better than mine.

YEP! ...you ever try to sell something on CL?

I tried to sell an old car once. Three weeks of every type of joker leaving emails.

I'm serious ...I'm serious ...can I come look???

None of these these clowns return emails or calls. A few of them were scrappers trying to low ball the price.

I was finally feed up and was just about to donate it to a local charity when somebody finally responded that could follow through on the deal.

Maybe this guy had his fill of window shoppers and did not get the impression you were serious. :scratch2:

Don't EVER expect reason, logic, manners, or wisdom. You will be very pleasantly surprised when (eventually) one or more of these qualities manifest themselves...

I have had 2 cases in the last month where people on kijiji absolutely would not cooperate with the sale. I had to ask one guy 4 times for a number or an address before he gave me something! Just one word responses to my email, it was ridiculous.

Second guy I ended up telling him to just forget it and sell them to somebody else. :screwy:
