Another DUAL 1019 Cartdge Alignment question

Hi Everyone,

I need to align a cart in my Dual 1019 and I do not have the alignment tool. I'd like to know a good solid method for cart placement. Based on the two threads referenced below, it seems that some believe that a Baerwald Stupid alignment protractor will do the trick, while others state that the arm is too short. I've done an alignment with a protractor before, but I always had a figure for overhang. Various overhang figures are given on the web, most based on eyeball measurements from a photo of alignment tool. Anyone have a solid method that they can explain?

There are indentations on the side of the slide towards the front. Get the stylus tip inside of those indentations for overhang - I did alignment angle by ear using headphones. The front of the cart is SLIGHTLY twisted in towards the center on my setup.

I'm not sure is Dual recommended the cart being square in HS/slide ? :scratch2:

But like I said... mine is only slightly angled in
 
Thanks for the info. I'll have a look at the slide this afternoon for the indentations. I've never shimmed a cart before, what size/material is used?
