Yesterday, my Marantz 2215b receiver onto the work bench for cleaning and deoxit'ing (?). Normally, when I buy new vintage piece of electronics, I usually check DC offset before plugging in speakers. I did that and if was fine. What I didn't do was to check the fuses. When I started cleaning RCAs in the back I unscrewed the fuse holder. Well, there was no fuse. What I found there was a ball-pen spring. I guess next time besides DC offset, I will make sure correct fuses are installed.
