From time to time I'll eat at Chipotle, not my favorite, but it sure beats out Taco Smell. Although the food isn't exactly notable, sometimes the sound system is. While most have the usual JBL bass bucket and distributed satellites, which do sound pretty good, I've been in a few with something completely different. Yesterday I was in a Fayetteville, NC location and the sound was unusual. I looked around and found these

A simple pair of 3-way's with horns up high and even inverted to get the highs a little closer to the floor.
This find nearly ties the Beef Palace butcher shop in Huntington Beach which has big RSL floor standers flanking the counter.

Anybody else come across interesting or vintage stereo setups in places one wouldn't expect to find them? If so post them here.

The Chipotle in St. Cloud, Florida has that same arraignment. The building was originally a Long John Silver's and was remodeled for Chipotle. I noticed here that the speakers are in a separate structure inside the main building along with the drink bar, looks like it could be dismantled and removed without too much fuss. It may be something they do when the building isn't one built specifically for them.

I was in Stowe Cider last month and they had some older receiver hooked up to some older large Cambridge Floorstanders
 
Chipotle partnered with Klipsch to put Heresies in their restaurants.

Probably the worst possible speaker choice to put in a hugely resonant, open, metal space, I'd think. (though I can't stand Heresies anyway).

How did they sound? if the horns were knocked back quite a bit, and the woofer placed in a much larger enclosure, they might actually do well.

OK, they had them at relatively low volume.
 
There's a small funky place in Astoria NY where I went to breakfast with my daughter a year or so ago. The place was packed with Klipsch KG4's; must have been as many as 8 or 10 of them hanging from the ceiling. Not ideal placement for sure, but I was impressed.
 
There used to be a pizza place in Hicksville, NY outside the Mid Island Plaza named MY Pi (they used the Greek symbol)back in the late 70's that had a Pioneer SX-1250 and Bose 901's, I remember them sounding nice but never heard them turned up

The Tribeca Grill, owned by Drew Nieporent & Robert DeNiro, in Manhattan has a bunch of Klipsch Heresy hanging from the ceiling, sounds pretty good in there.
