Another Sansui score - Sansui AU-x901

Seems like people are "giving" away their Sansui gear these days....

First I picked up the C-2301/B-2301 combo some weeks ago - and tonight I just picked up a almost mint Sansui AU-x901 integrated amplifier :D

Payed 85$ for the amplifier - everything works, lights, buttons etc. and no crackling in pots etc.
I have just tried the MC Phono - very nice indeed - checked the brochure MC "step up" transformers :thmbsp:

Super score on the AU-X901!!!!!!!

I have one and it just has the most beautiful sound. I paid $375 plus shipping and was so happy to just pay that price. Actually I just feel very lucky to have even found one. I looked for mine for many years before finding one.

'Source direct' mode is wonderful. Yes...MC.

They sell for high prices in Europe. Around $1400 and I have seen one for sale, asking price, $2000. I'm sure you know but what they really are is the international version of the Japanese domestic AU-a707i. I've seen one or two sell for $800-$900.

Mine also is very minty. I sincerely hope it lasts forever. It's a wonderful amp.

How do you like it compared to the sound of your B/C-2301?

About 6 months ago I saw an AU-X701 (AU-a606i) sell for the amazingly low price of $94 on eBay. I couldn't believe it really. If I knew it would sell that cheap, I would of bid on it and bought it for an extra amp. But...$85 for a X901...absolutely unreal!! :>)

The X901 is a wonderful sounding amp!! Very sophisticated sound. Very musical. Great amp. My favorite for sure, and I've had a lot of amps.

I must agree with you - this amp sounds really good!!

As "bluesky" mention - "source direct" mode - very clear, clean and dynamic with a fast and tight bottom. 85$ for it....amazing.

I have not had the chance to compare it to the C/B2301 combo yet as my speaker cables are to short for "quick" swapping between the amps.

I will try to take some pictures in the following days, just have to do some serious tidying and move some equipment.

...and I'm a true believer , that the AU-X 901 will be sounding MUCH better than Your old & particularly broken C/B 2301's , so if you would like to get devorced from this Old , Damaged , Heavy & Unpleasant gear - just send a PM..:D

Just seen an AU-X901, that appeared to be in really fine shape, sell yesterday for $460 plus shipping in the USA.
