Pardon my presumption, but I think the pot input feature pads and traces unnecessary as this would be normally done externally and the board could be usefully further compacted by omitting them.

you are correct. I thought of simplicity for naive DIY enthusiast. For expert person it is totally useless. If everybody agrees I can remove that before final fabrication.

I usually put the inputs to the selector, then to the span of the level pot and from there the pot wiper to signal in and return to common. Otherwise the elegance of your board layout is quite admirable.

Case 1: Input - output, signal level changes drastically ( more than 10X of input)

Case 2: Input - output, signal level remains more or less same between 1X -10X range of input. (e.g. equalizer, filter etc)

For case 1, I always felt safe when input and output are away from each other if they are different (here signal level). I fear for feedback ( my radio background).

I would like to use your suggestion for case 2 above. This is my personal feeling.

Thanks! I would be happy to remove extra pads and traces. It will reduce another half inch from dimension. I will do that to keep only L (+, -) and R(+, -).

I agree... however, having lifted a solder pad off the CNC board (fitting/refitting), having the extra pads could be useful.

Hmm.. making it 1/2 inch smaller will not save much money as well. For specific case still one can cut the pcb and do new mounting holes. Those extra traces could be got rid of.
What you say? Should I keep it as it is now or remove those pads. I don't have any objections. I say keep it there.
