It's beyond me why someone would pay 20k for a turntable. You'd think 2-5K would get you the most unreasonably good one. How can you even stuff so much money into something so small?

I see it as the same way someone would pay $250-$300k for a new Ferrari, when a $50k Porsche Boxster is already unreasonably good, and for most people, already an unobtainable luxury. Total diminishing returns....If you want the absolute, price-no-object apex engineering apex, you're gonna have to pay. And of course, the price itself becomes one of the selling points

They should make one that hovers using superconductors and chilled at the right temp. That could be 20k for me.
