Antenna advice, Marantz 2215B

Have this unit, substantially restored, sounds lovely. But I don't get much tuner reception, FM or AM, despite being in an urban area. Have the usual loop antenna. Any suggestions for a better antenna (not excluding an outdoor one)?

loop antenna for AM? Yeah, not much FM comes through on that one.

One of the better bang-for-the-buck FM antennas is the Stellar Labs 4 element.
Newark Electronics has the best price.

Or rabbit ears, if you don't have anything for FM right now.

Otherwise, there are many threads here on antenna selection.
 
I've always used those cheap T antennas for FM... the ones made from 300 ohm antenna lead. Even in smaller, more rural areas, I got very good reception with my (various 70's Marantz, Pioneer, and Sony) receivers. Hell, a piece of 3' speaker wire often worked just fine. I wonder if there's an adjustment issue or something, despite it having been restored. Do you know that the tuner specifically was checked?
 
I live in an rural area and a folded dipole works good for me. It's about 12 ft in the air outdoors.
The closest station is maybe 30 miles.
