I have a B&K EX 4420 and PT 3 . Am I improving things by going to an Anthem 225 integrated? I just like integrateds better but do not want to go backwards Speakers are PSB Golds. Power is not an issue for either setup. Last time I heard the 225 I thought it was kind of dry. Thanks

I've been tossing around the idea of an Anthem 225 for awhile now. Curious how my Vandersteens will sound with 225 wpc vs the HK's 150 wpc.

From strictly a wattage standpoint, that difference is only 1.8dB. That is not much difference in the scheme of things.

Providing one is making a relatively apples to apples comparison, personally, if you feel you need more power, I wouldn't piddle with anything that's not at least 2x what you already have.

Thanks for the info. The only reason I was giving it thought is I had an Anthem MCA20 (225wpc) with my last Vandersteen rig and the speakers seemed to open up more than with the HK.
