I bought an anthem 225I 2 years ago and I can share what i've found. With my kef 105/3 they were exciting and immediate but the lack of a tape loop meant biamping the bass to use the kube, still beautiful music. with the kef 107/2 same problem with kube so bi amping the bass works for the active eq but the sound was brighter sounding thru the 107/2 speakers. Now I listen to the 225i with revel f52's and there's definitely a lack of midrange, kef builds from the midrange and goes out so i'm not surprised the f52's sound a little dry compared. POWERFUL, clean and the soundstage is creepy good so I may put a rug on 1 wall to absorb some reflected sound and maybe warm the mids up a bit but at $1100 the stuffs selling for at audiogon I say oh yea! Honestly a crap shoot getting the perfect match but I did have 3 different quality pair to listen to and besides some midrange leanness vs bloom thru 1 of the 3 pair connected and these things control the bass! Really the only other options is bite the bullet an pony up for the parasound halo or rogue $2500 amps. I paid $1650. a couple years ago no problem, looks good too.
