Any info on VSA1000?

Anyone? Google reveals almost no mention of it. It’s a late 80’s integrated with Dolby Pro Logic surround sound. I just pulled it out of the basement with the thought of putting it in the living room to replace my Denon AVR3300 which has been overheating rather easily these days. I do have other receivers I’d prefer to use but the wife isn’t too keen on my “old” gear. It’s not just speakers that need WAF, lol. It has a bazzillion inputs like TV, LD, VCR 1,2 and 3. Who the heck had three VCRs? I think the guy I got it from bought it while he was posted in Germany as it’s a 120/240v model.

This just might be the motivation I need to send in the SX1010 for refurb/repair. That sucker would look great in the living room. Wife might not agree though.

The VSA-1000D was Pioneer's top of the line A/V amplifier in 1991. I have the VSA-9500 which was the next model down. I believe mine came from Australia originally. I dont believe they were ever sold in the States.

My unit has twin power transformers, two 22,000uf caps, and weighs almost 40lbs. The digital inputs are just icing on the cake.

If it is the black faced VSA-1000 from 1988 then I dont think it is anything "special."
